Blaming creditors for Ghana’s debt burden when you have mismanage the economy’– Hanke lambast Ofori-Atta

Renowned US Professor of Economics, Steve Hanke has rebuke Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for mismanaging the Ghanaian economy.

Professor Hanke who’s a tough critic of Ghanaian government in a tweet became amazed Mr Ofori-Atta`s was dissatisfied with overseas creditors have been slow in assisting Ghana`s quest to get a program from the International Monetary Fund.

“As 33 African nations has been afflicted by debt burden, Ghana`s Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is dissatisfied that overseas creditors had been `slow to act`”.

`Instead of recognizing mismanagement, he’s blaming lenders for Ghana`s debt burden’ – Hanke lambast Ofori-Atta.

Ghana`s remaining hurdle to securing a Fund programme is getting approval from the Paris Club and other lenders to restructure its debt.

Though talks are far advanced with the lenders, it’s still remains uncertain when the approval will be given for     Ghana to secure the IMF fund programme.
